ActivID Card Management System SDK
Customize, extend and integrate the leading product
The ActivID™ Card Management System SDK offers a set of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) allowing integrators and technology partners to integrate, customize and extend the market-leading ActivID™ Card Management System (CMS).
Card and Credential Management API allows third party systems to:
- Send user provisioning data to ActivID CMS,
- Trigger card and credential management events in ActivID CMS,
- Personalize smart cards or USB tokens securely with ActivID CMS transparently from an external application.
Usage examples:
- Integrate ActivID CMS with additional Identity Management and User Provisioning systems, so that the user identity data is collected and controlled by the Identity Management system and then passed to ActivID CMS for creation of a smart card and associated credentials (such as PKI certificates). Examples of implementations: Novell® Identity Manager, Lenel IdentityDefender®.
- Integrate the secure card personalization and credential management capabilities of ActivID CMS directly in the user interface of an existing Badging Application or Physical Access Control System console. Examples of implementations: Honeywell Pro-Watch® and WIN-PAK®, Lenel OnGuard®.
Event Notification Plug-in API allows third party systems to receive notification of events from ActivID CMS
Usage example:
- Integrate ActivID CMS with additional Identity Management and User Provisioning systems, so that the smart card and credential lifecycle events are sent to the Identity Management system by ActivID CMS (such as PKI certificates). Examples of implementations: Novell® Identity Manager, Lenel IdentityDefender®.
Credential Provider Interface API allows partners and integrators to:
- Extend ActivID CMS for support of additional Certificate Authorities
Usage example:
- New and improved integration with Entrust Authority® in ActivID™ CMS 4.0.
Customizable workflow Plug-in interfaces allow partners and integrators to:
- Add support for automated integration with any external data source,
- Extend the data stored on the card to include more information.
- ·Capture or verify user information at issuance time (e.g. biometrics, signature, scanned documents…)
Usage examples:
- The ActivID CMS PIV plugins extend the data schema to store all the necessary attributes for a PIV card.
- Verification of fingerprints of the end-user at the time of issuance / activation of a PIV card.
